This guide addresses the Taming the Beast quest chain from the point just before Thotar provides you with a taming Rod for your Dire Mottled Boar in Razor Hill. Thotar will provide you with a number of 3 taming rods, each is different and makes it possible for you tame beasts in the subsequent order: Dire Mottled Boar, Surf Crawler and eventually an Armored Scorpid.
